INDICATIVE LEARNING UNIT

Workshops for 6-8 year-olds
A step towards acquiring and appreciating basic life skills in kitchen.

In these workshops, kids cook on their own, become confident and comfortable in the kitchen and learn healthy eating habits. In the process they also acquire practical life skills, basic food literacy, and sharpen table manners around the Sparrows Cafe community table. The exposure will also help them better appreciate the values of eating healthy, natural and organic. 

We are open year-round, including certain holidays, and offer camps during Summer and Winter breaks.

Being a round the year activity, these learning units will evolve both in depth and width, and get customised to individual learner’s aptitude. 

Workshops developed for 9-12 year-olds
A step towards acquiring and appreciating basic life skills in kitchen.

We work with little chefs and help them learn and elevate recipes, collect, prepare and process ingredients. In the process we nudge them to think out-of-the-box, explore options and substitutes within a kitchen. We show them how to safely handle kitchen equipment and also clean up after cooking. The exposure will also help them better appreciate the values of eating healthy, natural and organic.

A step towards acquiring and appreciating basic life skills in kitchen.

We will help the teens cook on their own, become interested, confident and independent in the kitchen. During the sessions, apart from cooking and baking, we will also cover a wide range of topics about food literacy and nutrition that are essential for young people to sustain a healthy lifestyle.
